Opening times: wednesday and saturday 10h00 to 18h00. All others days by appointment only: 06 12 46 38 00 The Galerie Jeanne Robillard promotes the work of illustrators of children?s books. It holds temporary exhibitions of the work of individual illustrators and a wide variety of thematic exhibitions in the newly created gallery space. For the past four years the gallery has also organised travelling exhibitions of original illustrations from children's books, allowing the work to be viewed by a wider audience. This has brought the exhibitions to various cultural centres (libraries, bookshop, hospitals, etc.) in France and abroad. Children's illustration is an art in and by itself and can be found in a variety of sources, books, journals, advertising, and in animations. Galerie Jeanne Robillard supports the art of children?s illustration bringing together, the artists, children and adults with a love for this work, through the: - temporary exhibitions held in the gallery - original illustrations for sale - travelling exhibitions for rent A gallery ?carte blanche? The recent move of the gallery to new premises provides a friendly space to view the illustrators? work. Jeanne Robillard extends a warm welcome to those who wish to visit and view the temporary exhibitions in her gallery and exchange ideas and discuss children?s illustration in this lovely Parisian setting. The gallery opens its door to exhibitions in the spirit of the opening exhibition "Carte Blanche", a free form event where 30 illustrators brought their chosen pieces of work together in one show. The gallery is also interested in supporting the work of artists from outside France. It will soon be hosting a major exhibition of the work of Flemish illustrators "Colouring outside the lines". Other forthcoming events also include, best of reviews of illustrator?s work, such as "The Portrait of Martin Jarrie" that discusses his work on the border between illustration and painting, and exhibitions comprised of different media, such as Rebecca Dautremer's animation movie. Original exhibitions for sale Each illustrator, whose work is shown at the gallery or in the catalogue of travelling exhibitions, provides a selection of their work for sale. The gallery sells a wide variety of these original illustrations, as well as books and exhibition catalogues. The gallery is open on Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and at other times by appointment. The work of the various illustrators and range of goods for sale can also be viewed online at the Gallery Jeanne Robillard website (www.jeannerobillard.com). Those who cannot visit the gallery in person can purchase directly from the website and receive their purchases by post. All original illustrations for sale are signed and dedications can be written on request. Travelling exhibitions The travelling exhibitions are thematic. They are generally formed around certain children's books or take a broader approach based around key illustrators? work. The catalogue is continually developing, with currently 35 travelling exhibitions available for rent, and a further 5 new exhibitions available soon, including a portrait about Martin Jarrie's work and Grimm's tales illustrated by Cécile Landowski.
