For the past five years the gallery has organised travelling exhibitions of original illustrations from children's books: exhibitions of individual illustrator?s work and a wide variety of thematic exhibitions. These exhibitions have reached a wide audience in various cultural centres (libraries, bookshop, hospitals, etc.) in France and abroad. The gallery now also holds temporary exhibitions in the newly created gallery space Children's illustration is an art in and by itself and can be found in a variety of sources, books, journals, advertising, and in animations. Galerie Jeanne Robillard supports the art of children?s illustration bringing together, the artists, children and adults with a love for this work, through the: - temporary exhibitions held in the gallery - original illustrations for sale - travelling exhibitions for rent A gallery ?carte blanche? A friendly space to view the illustrators? work. Jeanne Robillard extends a warm welcome to those who wish to visit and view the temporary exhibitions in her gallery, exchange ideas and discuss children?s illustration in this lovely Parisian setting. The gallery opens its door to exhibitions in the spirit of the opening exhibition "Carte Blanche", a free form event where 30 illustrators brought their chosen pieces of work together in one show. The gallery exhibits the work of many well known illustrators, such as Rébecca Dautremer, Marcelino Truong, Carll Cneut, and Martin Jarrie with an exhibition intitled "The Portrait of Martin Jarrie" that discussed his work on the border between illustration and painting. The gallery is interested in discovering and supporting new talents, such as Delphine Jacquot, who was gaining acclaim with her first two beautiful books (Spring 2008). Galerie Jeanne Robillard is also interested in supporting the work of artists from outside France. In winter 2008 it held a major exhibition of the work of Flemish illustrators, "Colouring outside the lines". Original exhibitions for sale Each illustrator, whose work is shown at the gallery or in the catalogue of travelling exhibitions, provides a selection of their work for sale. The gallery sells a wide variety of these original illustrations, as well as books and exhibition catalogues. The gallery is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm, and at other times by appointment. The work of the various illustrators and range of goods for sale can also be viewed online at the Galerie Jeanne Robillard website (www.jeannerobillard.com).
